Safety Health Awareness Day

The Safety Health Awareness Day (SHAD) was organised as a joint venture between the Working Well Together Campaign, Swansea Bay Construction Support Group and NPTC Group. On 1st April representatives from Working Well Together member companies gave up their time to come into college to talk to construction apprentices about Health and Safety. Topics covered included Working at Height, Scaffolding, Welfare, Asbestos and Face Fit/Dust. In addition to industry speakers, there were interactive activities including trying on different respiratory equipment and safe use of scaffolding. The feedback from the day was very positive, comments from apprentices included:

\”Face fit talk was something new I hadn’t heard before – I will definitely get my face fitted when I get back to site\”

\”I will make sure that I am using the correct equipment on site\”

\”After today I want to work safer\”
