We recently held our annual Christmas Lunch and networking event at the Swansea.Com Stadium, attended by SBCSG members, industry professionals, and stakeholders from across the region.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for the group to present their chosen charities with money raised at last summer’s apprenticeship awards. Both the Jac Lewis Foundation and Hands Up For Downs were presented with a cheque for £1000 each, supporting the invaluable work they provide across the region.
This year’s event included three insightful talks, aimed at keeping our members informed and up to date with the latest funding changes for training and what is available to them.
The first talk, presented by Jon Davies and Ross Baker, Customer Engagement Advisors from the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), focused on the recent reforms and updates to funding, grants, and training application processes. Jon and Ross provided valuable insights into how these changes will impact companies and their ability to access support for training and development.
The second presentation, delivered by Steffan Rogers, from PCR Global, introduced the latest updates in available training. Steffan also explained the process by which SBCSG members can apply for training through PCR Global, ensuring staff and apprentices can easily access relevant courses to enhance their skills.
The third and final presentation was delivered by Jo Walker and Sadie Cresswell, who informed the group of the range of courses being delivered by CWIC Scaffolding Academy and the apprenticeship opportunities the company supports.
Thank you to everyone who joined us! We look forward to continuing to support our members in their development and growth in the construction industry.
